This binder has been my life since Saturday afternoon. I’m going through my final interview process/candidate orientation with Greater Europe Mission until Friday evening. The days have been long, filled with much information and many conversations. I’m grateful that I get to come home to my own bed and crash each night. After having so much alone time without a job in Colorado Springs, I’ve gone to the other extreme this week with being around so many people. At the same time, I’ve enjoyed getting to know GEM and the people who are involved. This group is like a family and in a way they have become my family too.
I could give you so many stories of how I’ve been invested in this week, even though I know at the same time I’m also being evaluated as a potential GEM missionary. These people care about what God wants to do in and through my life. They haven’t painted idealistic pictures, but asked the hard questions when they needed to be asked.
Today I had my final interview with a small committee of four people who will then talk to a larger committee tonight. Tomorrow morning we find out who will continue on with GEM and be heading to the field. I know either way God is in control. It’s hard to think that any one of us 17 candidates wouldn’t be moving forward. But God is in control of it all.
Tomorrow I will let you know what happened and post some pics of me and other candidates. I’ve made some incredible friends this week that I know I’ll take with me beyond our time in the Homewood Suites in Colorado Springs.
still looking for a job
Thank you all so much for your prayers about the job situation. Unfortunately the library job didn’t pull through. I got a letter in the mail on Friday saying they had selected another candidate. Then I jumped right into orientation and didn’t get a chance to tell you. I apologize for the delay. So, I’m still looking and praying for a job. I can’t focus on this part of my life during orientation. There isn’t time or energy. I’ll address it when I get back to Colorado Springs on June 18 after my cousin’s weekend wedding.
Keep praying!! Thanks!
So . . . more tomorrow.
