April is ending soon and I can’t seem to figure out where this month went. I’ve had many opportunities for training and growing my support team in a variety of ways.
This past weekend Greater Europe Mission had a training geared for single women heading overseas. Above you will see our group at a local Mexican restaurant. There were women headed to Germany, Czech Republic, France, Morocco and Austria (me!). My friend Beth, heading to Brno, Czech Republic, stayed at my house and we had a wonderful time together. It’s such an encouragement to be surrounded by other women going through what I’m going through in the support-raising phase. It was truly a blessing to hear their stories and learn from them.
On Sundays in April I’ve had the opportunity to set up a table at church about Greater Europe Mission and Austria (this Sunday is my last) . It’s been a way to gain exposure and talk to a few people about joining my team. I’ve shared about purchasing 963 coffee to support missions and tell everyone about the improv event this Friday.
Last Sunday an older gentleman approached me and told his stories of missions in Europe. When I explained what I would be doing and the amount of support needed you could see tears in his eyes. God had deeply touched his heart. He stopped right there and prayed for me. What a blessing to rub shoulders with those who have gone before me and in many ways paved the way.
my adopted family
In January I moved in with the Gillotts to save money and spend more time raising support, so I don’t have to work my desk job quite as much. I had Lauren in my high school small group for 4 years and have grown to know and love this family. Here are pictures of the family. Above from left to right Lauren, me and Katlin.
Below (from L to R) Katlin, Mark, Joyce, Lauren and me. We had fun at a nice dinner overlooking downtown Colorado Springs. This family is such a blessing to me. God has provided so much more than simply a place to live through them. Thank you Gillotts!
Friday, Friday, Friday
This week is the BIG event. On Friday a local improv group “The Stick Horses in Pants” is donating their time and talent to help me raise missions support. I’m not sure if there will be 25 people or 300. A big prayer request is pray that we’ll have enough dessert. Or that God will multiply the chocolate cake if needed. 🙂
Pray that God will be glorified through every aspect of this event and that He will move on hearts who attend to join my monthly support team. Also that He will give me the words to communicate clearly and effectively what He’s been up to in my life and to paint the picture of the spiritual need in Europe.
I’ll be sure to take my camera and capture some photos for my next blog. I can’t wait to tell you how God moved! I’m excited!
Right now I’m at 40 percent of my monthly support, but would like for you to join me in prayer that this month’s exposure and event will help take me to more than 50 percent. My goal is to be at 80 percent by August, to attend September training. Please join me in praying for this specific request.
I’m so thankful to have you journeying with me. Thank you for your encouragement, financial support, and especially prayers. I’m blessed to have you in my life!
Have a great week!
