met with the surgeon

The next step has been taken and I met with the surgeon this morning (Tuesday) to see about which lymph node would need to be removed. They are going to remove one under my left arm-pit tomorrow (Wednesday) evening around 5 p.m. This is an outpatient surgery. We can’t be positive what this is right now, but we are aware that it could be a lymphoma-type cancer. I don’t want to write this post without stating the obvious. But I’m trying to just take one step at a time and not let my mind go racing. I’m thankful for college basketball and DVDs because they keep my mind on other things 🙂

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I definitely have God’s peace in a way that is beyond understanding. And I’m reminded of so many verses that talk about God’s peace and power and strength and help. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

I may not be able to update this blog until later Thursday (unless I can teach my parents to do it . . . ha!) But I will update this blog as soon as I can. Know that you can also receive these updates by checking the blog itself (tandemliving.blogspot.com). The e-mails come out a little delayed sometimes.

Love and blessings!

  1. S.G. and I are praying for you. The peace you feel is so inspiring. We are so happy that your dad came to get you, so you can be with your family during this time. Remember that we are family, too, and want only the best for you. Our time together was brief, but you made a lasting impression. Much love to our precious friend.
