So yesterday’s appointment with my oncologist went well. I like that he has a sense of humor, sometimes! I had my blood drawn for my upcoming CT scan on Tuesday. They won’t take the blood from my port so they have to draw it from my arm. I simply can’t watch! So I’m turning my head while my oncologist is taking my blood (they don’t let nurses do this in Austria). He walks away from my arm, but I know that the needle is still in there. He jokes with me and my friend, Dawn, “I think we should just leave that in there for your CT scan contrast!” I start laughing, but am not about to look at my arm. I didn’t want to see this needle sticking out from it! Finally he took out the needle and wrapped this gauze around my arm to stop the bleeding. He joked again, “I think you should leave that gauze on for about two weeks!” A jokester for sure!
On a more serious note, he did a physical exam and didn’t notice any lymph nodes of unusual size and my spleen still seemed normal. But we’ll find out more about that after my scan. My scan is on Tuesday and I’ll have the results on Wednesday. I have to go pick up the results from one medical center and take them to my oncologist on Wednesday. I will have all the results in my hands even before my oncologist, but guess what, they will be in German!
Thank you for your prayers! I made it through my appointment. I’ll keep you posted as I go through the scan, the results and my upcoming chemo at the end of the month!
Have a great rest of your week!
