Well, I finished my final chemo treatment today, and am doing well so far. I think I ate 10-12 popsicles in a period of about 1.5 hours to keep my mouth cold and try to prevent mouth sores. Continue to pray about those type of side effects.
Right now I have a high priority prayer request. The stem cells I am receiving for this transplant are coming from Europe (yep, God’s incredible plan . . . of course they are coming from Europe!) which means they get to travel like I have done so many times to get here. I found out this afternoon that they won’t be arriving until very late on Tuesday, June 4. Which means I won’t receive them until the morning of Wednesday, June 5. Pray for this flight and journey and their safe arrival here. Pray for the donor who has never even met me, but so generously gave this precious gift. Pray for a smooth infusion on Wednesday, which will be an additional birthday for me.
Thank you so much for joining me in prayer. My God has been sustaining me every step. Something I’ve been meditating on today is God as My Protector. Talk about a time of needing protection from germs, infections, etc. Here is a version of Psalm 121 that talks just about that as this psalmist goes on a journey.
Psalm 121
I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
HE will not allow your foot to slip; Your Protector will not slumber.
Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep.
The LORD protects you, the LORD is a shelter right by your side. The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.
The LORD will protect you from all harm; HE will protect your life.
The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever.
Thanks for joining me in this journey! May HE become even more famous along the way!
I saw this story today and thought of you!
