Praise God for reaching the 100 day mark post transplant!! There hasn’t been much celebrating yet, but oh there will be someday soon. Last Sunday night I was terribly sick until about 5 a.m. Monday morning. God really was my Sustainer. Thank you for your prayers. I read them on my phone as they came in from Facebook or Twitter. It was like this huge hug of prayer that was so powerful! We’re not exactly sure why I was so sick. But a week later I am thankful to have slowly regained my appetite.
This will be a rather short post, so I can send out a few prayer requests before tomorrow (Monday, Sept 16):
• Monday, Sept. 16 around 1 p.m. EST I have a bone marrow biopsy. I have had this before, and the first time it made me really sick. Pray against nausea and vomiting. I have done enough of that over the last month and a half and need to maintain my weight. Pray for those doing the procedure that their hands would be guided and know how to respond to me as the patient.
• Pray for the results of this bone marrow biopsy! My blood tests from day 30 and day 60 post transplant indicated that the cells in me were 100% my donor’s cells. Praise Jesus!! Pray that the bone marrow biopsy will indicate the same thing: 100%!
• Pray that God’s peace would just cover over me inside and out. I’ve been through a lot (especially medically) in the last six months and have to constantly hand God my anxieties and fears again and again (easier said than done). I know HE is greater than any of this. I know HE is with me. Pray that I will remember that!
• Besides the bone marrow biopsy on Monday there will be other aspects of my normal appointment, like checking my blood and seeing how I’m doing. Well, right now I look like I have hives. I wonder if I have a form of graph versus host disease, as a rash is one sign of this. But rashes could be many different things. Pray for wisdom in the next treatment step with this rash.
•All of this will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, which is about a two hour drive from our house. Pray for safe travel and smooth trip. Both of my parents will be with me, which will be wonderful for the drive back!
Thank you for your prayers, your cards in the mail, your notes via e-mail or Facebook! I’m so blessed!!
Have a great week! We’ll keep you posted on the results.
